Top 5 Wedding Dress Trends for 2018

Want to know the Top Five Wedding Dress Trends we will be seeing in 2018?  Here is what I saw coming off the runways at New York Bridal Fashion Week at the end of last year that are now hitting the stores for 2018 Brides!

Top Five Wedding Dress Trends for 2018:

Dresses with Capes
Ines Di Santo
Price: $5,588

I have to admit, I’m completely obsessed with the cape trend! We saw it last year too and I’m so happy it’s continuing as a wedding dress trend into 2018. I think it adds that extra touch of glamour and regal elegance I adore in bridal.

Take this Ines Di Santo Gown that features a plunging neckline with low illusion backline so you have security in the construction of the dress but the sexiness in it’s design. It’s also embellished with 3-Dimensional beaded appliques over Chantilly lace to give it a rich detailed look. Topped with the cape gives you some drama but the sheer fabric allows you to appreciate the details on the dress. I’m in love… What do you think? Yay or Nay to Capes?

High Low Hem
Designer: Anne Barge Black Label – Jubilee
Retail: $5,930

I have to confess I was on the fence with the high-low hem trend until I saw this GORGEOUS Anne Barge Black Label gown in person and tripped right into full on love!

I think this beautiful creamy blush gown with a strapless neckline and a high-low skirt of layered tulle with icy, trellis-like beadwork would be perfect for a beach wedding that still wanted a little bit of glam. The beading is insanely beautiful and would catch the sunlight like diamonds and it is embellished with mini tassel detailing which is so unusual that it may be one of the key factors that tripped me into full on crazy in love, marry me right now kind of love… It’s beyond!

Wedding Pants
Designer: Theia
Retail: $1,295

Yes, Yes AND Yes to everything about the Wedding Pants Trend for 2018. We started seeing hints of pants in 2017 but the 2018 runway was embracing the fashion forward bride, the non-traditional bride and the bride that just wants to wear pants but still be super glamourous! And, if pants are pushing you too far out of your comfort zone for the ceremony, try a second look for the reception and embrace this wedding trend and switch into a statement bridal jumpsuit or pant suit!

This off-the-shoulder wedding pantsuit by Theia had me at hello and is a super affordable $1295. It’s made with a light crepe material and is designed with a flattering natural waist and pleated bodice. You could take your look boho chic with this jumpsuit or in my opinion you could glam it out with a 70’s disco vibe and do a metallic eye and a gold, glitzy choker!

The Minimalist Look & Meghan Markle Royal Wedding Inspired
Designer: Sareh Nouri
Retail: $6,849

On the runways we were seeing that dresses were splitting between super glam and sexy or really minimal which was interesting to see designers go back to clean lines with minimal embellishment for a more classic bride. And, I have a feeling we are going to see this trend continue as we wait to see what Megan Markle will be wearing when she marries Prince Harry on May 19th as she has been noted in saying she wanted a gown that was simple and classic.

I adore this sweet Sareh Nouri silk gazar ballgown with box pleats which gives you a beautiful skirt and a soft embellished floral bodice finished off with a sheer flutter shoulder with a cap sleeve. It is the perfect look for a classic and modern princess.

Sheer Details with Illusion Tulle
Designer: Ines Di Santo
Retail: $6,996

For the bride that wants a gown that is a bit more sexy, Illusion Tulle has been the answer they are looking for as this  wedding trend continues into 2018. What’s great about the illusion tulle is that it provides coverage and keeps the dress feeling secure but offers the ability for designers to play with embellishments like lace appliques and beading in patterns that give the look of a plunging neckline or back and intricate cutouts in the bodice.

This Ines Di Santo is the perfect example with its sheer bodice with hand sewn lace appliqués, an illusion sleeve with lace cuff to define the sleeves and a stunning and form-fitting lace sheath skirt with slit and sweep train. Prepare for the groom’s mouth to drop open when he sees his bride walking down the aisle toward him!
